IGP’s Wife Empowers Late Police Officers Wives In Ebonyi

President of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, has assured wives of deceased policemen and the less privileged of her continuous support towards creating opportunities for them to overcome their challenges.

Egbetokun stated this while speaking at an enlarged empowerment programme in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, marking her maiden visit to the State’s Police Command.

The IGP’s wife during the visit, distributed items including grinding machines, hair dressing machines, sewing machines and bags of rice.

Mrs Egbetokun said the intervention materials were not only to provide financial assistance, but the skill for self-reliance to secure better future for the families of late police personnel, assuring them that they are not alone.

She highlighted the vision behind the empowerment programme in ensuring the heart desires of the fallen heroes who left their families behind protecting the nation, adding that the intervention was also to create the widows…
